Simmons bolsters Frankfurt with Haarmann hire

Simmons & Simmons has hired Haarmann founding partner Jan Wildberger to bulk up its Frankfurt office.
Wildberger has joined the firm as a partner in its German corporate team advising private equity houses and corporates.
Simmons corporate head Mark Curtis said: “Jan’s hire will be a major step forward for the local private equity practice and our German M&A team generally.
“He’s highly regarded in the German legal world as a heavyweight, and is well known as one of the founding partners of Haarmann.”
In 2007 The Lawyer reported that Wildberger launched private equity boutique Haarmann in 2007 as a spin off from German firm Haarmann Hemmelrath. Five Hemmelrath partners teamed up with White & Case partner Hans-Jorg Wittman to launch the firm (1 February 2007).
