Simmons & Simmons has been added to Standard Chartered Bank’s UK panel, joining six existing firms on the roster.
The addition of Simmons was the only change to the panel following a recent review last week, and also includes Addleshaw Goddard, Burges Salmon, Denton Wilde Spate, DLA Piper, Herbert Smith and Norton Rose.
Simmons features on Standard Chartered’s Hong Kong regional panel, but this is the first time it has been included on the UK regional panel.
A member of the bank’s legal team said: “The panel review was very much about aligning firms to our business needs, and we felt that Simmons has expertise in a number of important areas. There was also a keenness on Simmons’ part and on-going relationship with the firm in Hong Kong.”
Standard Chartered last updated its UK panel two years ago, when Norton Rose was the only new addition (20 March 2008).
