Sidley defies downturn with City figures

• Sidley Austin has announced a 12.4 per cent increase in London turnover for the 2007 financial year.

The Chicago-based firm's London revenue grew from £55.03m at the end of 2006 to £61.87m at the end of last year.

Sidley London managing partner Drew Scott said: "We're very pleased with the increase given what happened in the markets during the last five months of the year."
