Shopping centre sues bank

The owner of a shopping centre at Bedford Square, central London, is taking NatWest Bank to the High Court. Martin Slowe Estates claims it has had no banking facilities at the centre since NatWest closed its branch in February 1997. Now it is taking the bank to court and seeking damages, claiming that, as a result, custom has diminished and businesses have been affected. The centre's owner accuses the bank of breach of contract.
