Shoosmiths has continued its push into the competitive Birmingham market by making three lateral hires from DLA Piper, Eversheds and Wragge & Co.

The hires come a month after Shoosmiths poached property litigation partner Darren Clegg from Wragges.

Shoosmiths’ recent trawl includes one partner and two assistant solicitors, taking the Birmingham headcount to 14 partners and 85 staff. In the past 18 months the firm has been expanding aggressively with 14 lateral hires.

Former Eversheds senior associate Alastair Peet joins as a partner. He brings expertise in M&A, as does Emma Dolphin from Wragges. Lucy Clark from DLA Piper joins the IP/IT team.

Shoosmiths head of corporate Oliver Brookshaw said the Birmingham office would continue to grow its commercial, corporate and banking teams.
