Shepherds boss takes up partner role at DLA Piper

DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary has snared Hazel Moffat, head of the regulatory group of Shepherd & Wedderburn, for its Edinburgh office.

Moffat is set to join DLA Piper's EU competition team as a partner in April. She will report to the firm's head of EU competition and trade Mike Pullen.

A public law specialist, Moffat has advised a number of statutory and government bodies, such as the Scottish Parliament and Scottish Power, on governance and competition issues.

Moffat told The Lawyer she decided to move to DLA Piper to give her access to a broader scope of work across the UK.

"Shepherd & Wedderburn have a presence in England and Wales, but DLA Piper's competition group is very well known throughout the UK," she said.
