Shepherd & Wedderburn wins WICS licensing tender

Shepherd & Wedderburn has won a competitive tender to advise the Water Industry Commission for Scotland (WICS) on a three-year licensing project.

The Scottish firm will act for the WICS as it implements a licensing regime for retail competition in the water and sewerage industry. The work comes on the back of recent projects for Scottish Power and the WICS’s Strategic Review of Changes.

The beauty parade was led by competition and regulatory partner Gordon Downie, alongside utilities specialists, partners James Saunders and Liz McRobb.

WICS chief executive Alan Sutherland said the commission was "extremely impressed" by Shepherd & Wedderburn’s skills and understanding.
