Sheffield Uni unveils three-firm roster

The University of Sheffield has launched its first-ever panel, with the appointment of three firms to the roster.

Beachcroft, DLA Piper and Pinsent Masons have been appointed to advise across three areas covering commercial, governance and regulation, and people and physical estates.

The university kicked off the process earlier this year after the arrival of Dr Phil Harvey from the University of Sussex in the roles of registrar, secretary and chief operating officer (The Lawyer, 15 March).

Harvey established the first panel at the University of Sussex. This saw the institution appoint three firms on local, national and international matters (The Lawyer.com, 20 July 2009).

Sheffield Uni’s three-year panel began on 1 September, with the possibility of another one-year extension.

Head of Pinsents’ universities group Nicola Hart said: “Our pitch was based on demonstrating value and making a real difference to their business.”
