New York firm Shearman & Sterling is boosting its Paris leveraged finance capability with a hire from local banking boutique De Pardieu Brocas Maffei & Leygonie.
Martin Lebeuf handles acquisition finance work and syndicated lending, and will complement the firm's London-based banking practice. The firm is increasingly being instructed on cross-border deals and has wanted to boost the Paris leveraged finance practice for a while.
Now it can offer leveraged finance capability in French, English and US law.
Lebeuf's clients include most of the big French banks - BNP Paribas, Société Générale and Crédit Lyonnais. His recent deals include advising Paribas in relation to a euro900m (£556m) syndicated credit facility and a euro600m (£370.5m) bridge loan for Klepierre to buy commercial centres from Carrefour.
