Linklaters has raided Shearman & Sterling’s Tokyo office, hiring its managing partner David Deck.
Deck, a US-qualified structured finance lawyer, was a partner in Shearman’s Tokyo office for five years before joining Linklaters last week.
Andrew Roberts, Linklaters Asian managing partner, said: “David’s appointment underlines the sustained progress the firm is making in building top-level US legal capability in Asia and across the firm generally.”
Deck specialises in leveraged lease financings, securitisation transactions, project financings, cross-border mergers and acquisitions and private equity deals, principally in Japan, Korea and Taiwan.
His appointment takes the number of US qualified partners in Linklaters’ Tokyo office to two.
