Shearman's Paris chief deserts to Hammonds

FORMER Shearman & Sterling managing partner William Lee will this week join City firm Hammond Suddards.

Lee, who managed the Paris office of the US firm, will take a consultative role in the corporate finance department as part of a strategic move to expand in the UK and internationally.

He says: “Hammonds is a firm with enormous talent and ambition. I'm looking forward to working with the partners to grow the 21-partner corporate practice.”

John Heller, senior partner at Hammonds, says Lee has experience of a broad range of international corporate finance issues.

He says Lee's “input will be invaluable”.

Heller adds: “Our firm has existing clients in the US, as well as Europe, and Lee has experience in both of these areas. He also has the added advantage of having enormous contacts elsewhere.”
