Shearman & Sterling has mined its vast international network to promote ten lawyers to its all-equity partnership.
The London office, which last year reported storming financial results, promoted one lawyer into the equity, UK-qualified capital markets expert J Warden McKimm, while its New York home saw three of its lawyers made up in asset management, litigation and intellectual property.
The remaining six promotions comprise a project finance expert from Abu Dhabi, antitrust specialist in Brussels, an M&A lawyer in Frankfurt and capital markets experts in Hong Kong, Paris and Toronto.
As exclusively revealed by The Lawyer (31 January 2005), Shearman reported a strong series of financial results for 2004, with turnover reaching $780m up from $730m the previous year.
The London office put in the best performance across the global network, with turnover rising 29 per cent to $110m.
