Shearman bolsters German tax group with hire

Shearman & Sterling’s German office has recruited a former Linklaters partner to shore up its tax practice.

Thomas Fox is joining Sherman to focus on national and international tax as well as private equity. Prior to joining the US firm, Fox was chief executive and founder of a mobile commerce company and before that, a partner with Oppenhoff & Radler which merged with Linklaters.

The hire is fill-up for Shearman’s German base which earlier this year suffered a rare partner loss when tax star Hanno Berger left for Dewey Ballantine’s Frankfurt office.
