Washington’s Shaw Pittman is attempting to grab a slice of lucrative Greater China-based IP and litigation work by opening an office in Taiwan.
The firm has recruited Yitai Hu, the former managing partner of US-based Finnegan Henderson Farabow Garrett & Dunner’s Taipei office, to open an office in the region.
Shaw Pittman is hoping its new Taipei office will act as a gateway into the Greater China region, specifically People’s Republic of China and Hong Kong. The firm has also taken on Steven Adkins from Washington’s Adduci Mastriani & Schaumberg to join its litigation and IP department.
