Memery Crystal has laid off two fee-earners in its corporate department following the firm’s second round of redundancies this year.
As well as lawyers, the firm has axed two full-time positions in its information and knowhow department, plus three support staff – one of whom was working part-time.
Managing partner Harvey Rands said that the firm was hiring in other areas, despite the downturn in corporate and real estate work.
“We’ve appointed new fee-earners in dispute resolution and are continuing recruitment in that department and intellectual property as part of the firm’s strategy in the current market conditions,” he added.
In July this year Memery Crystal cut two lawyers and two support staff from its corporate group, as well as two fee-earners in real estate.
Memery Crystal posted a turnover of £15m this year, and employs around 100 people.
