Stephenson Harwood has made up seven associates to the partnership, its highest number of promotions in the past three years.
In terms of practice areas, commercial litigation, finance, corporate, real estate, IP, environment and shipping litigation made up one partner each.
The firm made no internal promotions in 2006 and just three in 2005. While internal promotions have been slim, lateral hires have numbered 19 in the past two years, with finance and corporate taking the majority.
The firm's CEO Sunil Gadhia said: "It's just a coincidence that the talent has come through this year and these people have been promoted."
With two of the seven promotions in Singapore, Gadhia said the firm is dedicated to expanding practice areas in a variety of jurisdictions.
Having concentrated on building up the finance and corporate teams with lateral hires from firms such as Lovells and White & Case in the past year, the firm is now ramping up capabilities in other practice areas, added Gadhia.
