Trowers & Hamlins has announced that it has made seven redundancies since March.
Following a redundancy consultation, three secretarial staff and four fee earners were laid off by the firm between March and this week.
Trowers released a statement that said the cuts had been made“in light of continuing pressures on the UK legal market”.
A spokesperson for the firm was unable to confirm which departments were affected but said: “We’re continuing to review the business to make sure we’re in a strong position going forward”.
It remains unclear whether the ongoing review will put more jobs at risk.
Trowers is not the first firm to be hit by job losses this year. Last week Farrer & Co and Olswang both confirmed the results of redundancy consultations which begun earlier this year, laying off 12 and six staff respectively (16 May 2013).
