Seven Bedford Row bags new chief executive

Common law chambers Seven Bedford Row has appointed Orange Broadband managing director Stephen Allen as its new chief executive officer (CEO).

The move comes after the set’s former CEO Robert Graham-Campbell quit for Maitland Chambers after Maitland lost senior clerk Andy Flanagan to Crown Office Chambers.

Allen, who was instrumental in last year’s launch of Orange Broadband, said he will be looking to maintain Seven Bedford Row’s reputation as a “progressive, modernising chambers”.

He said: “Seven Bedford Row was the first chambers to appoint a chief executive with broad industry expertise and since then has been at the forefront of modernising, which is how I would like it to remain.

“The bar’s entering an exciting time and the set wants to be at the forefront of this. For instance, we’re looking at opportunities that the Clementi reforms can offer Seven Bedford Row.”
