Second tier firms start LPC

Fifteen leading firms are joining forces to discuss how they will respond to the deal that the top eight firms have struck with law schools to develop a City Legal Practice Course.

Nabarro Nathanson is organising meetings for the group, described as the 15 firms directly below the top eight. The group is talking to the three providers - Nottingham Law School, BPP Law School in London and the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice - about how they can ensure top training is available to their trainees.

Nabarros graduate recruitment partner Celia Staples says: "We have invited the providers to come and talk to us, but we are just gathering information at the moment."

Clifford Chance graduate recruitment partner Simon Davis says: "Our efforts in working hard to put together a course will benefit other firms."
