Field Fisher Waterhouse (FFW) partner David Naylor has been elected president of the Second Life Bar Association (SLBA) in the virtual world group's first-ever elections.
Naylor said: "It's an international association of several hundred lawyers and other people who are interested in virtual world legal systems and issues, and as such is a key network for lawyers and firms interested in this space.
"I hope the group develops as a healthy network of referral business between firms and also provides assistance to the community through pro bono activities."
He takes over from SLBA founder Benjamin Noble in January next year. The elections also covered the SLBA executive board.
FFW set up its Second Life office at the end of April, becoming the first UK firm to do so.
