Lord Archer v Daily Star. The tabloid newspaper wants the novelist to repay the damages and costs he won following the 1987 libel action over allegations linking him to prostitute Monica Coghlan. Lord Archer's solicitor Lord Mischon (pictured) sent a letter to the newspaper, saying: "Our client denies that he is in any way liable to make any repayment to the Daily Star." The libel case reared its ugly head when it transpired Archer had asked a friend to provide a concocted alibi for an evening spent in a restaurant with a woman other than his wife, Lady Archer. The Daily Star says: "We want our money back and our lawyers continue to work to that end."
