South Croydon Employment Tribunal heard last week that Derry Irvine, a member of the all-male Garrick club, allegedly chose to live in a world dominated by white men and had "known only one black person for a long time". Immigration lawyer Jane Coker and legal adviser Martha Osamor are taking a sex and race discrimination claim against Irvine and his department because he failed to advertise the u73,000-a-year special adviser post.
