Scary Spice Girl Mel G flew off to Phuket in an attempt to get as far away from her husband as possible. She is separating from Jimmy Gulzar after a furious New Year's day row and a divorce now seems inevitable. Mel G has already instructed Mayfair law firm Gordon Dadds' senior partner Douglas Alexiou and one of London practice Lee & Thompson's founders and senior partners Andrew Thompson, to act on the divorce. Alexiou says it is too early to comment on the divorce, but Gulzar is said to be chasing a £22m settlement. However David Taylor, family law partner at Finers Stephens Innocent, says it is unlikely that Gulzar would be entitled to anything like that amount. Taylor estimates that he will get less than £1m. Gulzar remains in the £2.5 marital home in Little Marlow, Buckinghamshire, but is expected to move out when Mel G returns home.
