An initiative has been launched aimed at in-house lawyers' continuing professional development (CPD).
Scottish firm Maclay Murray & Spens will run a programme of seminars to help lawyers in the employed sector reach this year's CPD requirements.
Seminars will tackle executive dismissal, agency agreements, employee benefits and commercial contracts.
More than 50 in-house lawyers have signed up for the courses, being held in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
There has been interest from financial services, engineering and entertainment sectors, says solicitor Graeme Sloan, of Maclay Murray & Spens.
He says the seminars are aimed at the firm's solicitors, as well as lawyers from commerce and industry.
“But they have been tailored to suit the needs of in-house lawyers,” he says.
The firm may consider running similar sessions from its London office following the enthusiastic response north of the border.
