Schultze & Braun launches Paris arm to bolster French presence and woo US clients

German insolvency specialist Schultze & Braun has set up an office in Paris.

The office is being led by senior associates Ellen Delzant and Patrick Ehret, both French and German dual-qualified lawyers.

It will advise clients on German insolvency and restructuring cases that have a France angle, but will not act as administrator in France.

For the past three years Delzant and Ehret have used Strasbourg as their base in France, but it is hoped that a presence in Paris will strengthen the firm’s position in the market and bring it closer to French companies and banks.

“We decided to open in Paris for two reasons,” said Schultze partner Annerose Tashiro. “The first is that France is such a centralised country and so much revolves around Paris, but also we’d like to reach out to US clients.”

Delzant and Ehret will divide their time between Paris, Strasbourg and Germany.

As well as international offices in Paris and Strasbourg, Schultze & Braun has an office in London and 34 offices in Germany.
