Matei Florea, an experienced specialist in banking and finance law, has been invited to become equity partner of Schoenherr.

Florea heads the banking and finance team in the firm’s Bucharest office. He has extensive know-how in advising clients with regard to legal matters in the areas of banking, distressed assets and bank consolidation projects, debt-restructurings (before and during insolvency) and complex project financing. F

lorea, who has worked for Schoenherr for 16 years, was promoted to equity partner as of 1 February 2016, the start of the firm’s current business year.

Since joining Schoenherr in 1999, Florea has advised a broad range of corporate clients from the CEE and CIS regions, as well as public entities including the Romanian State, Romanian ministries, municipalities and state-owned companies.

Florea graduated from the University of Bucharest Law School and earned a second law degree in European law at Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne. He has been a member of the Bar in Bucharest since 2003. He is fluent in Romanian, English, German and French.
