London-based law firm Schillings is on the move, having bought a Georgian building in Bedford Square, Bloomsbury.
From next Monday (17 September), the firm, which is known for its work with celebrities, including Keira Knightley and Britney Spears, will leave its Soho pad for the swanky new offices.
Law firms usually lease rather than buy premises, but Schillings said it decided to buy the new building as an "asset for the business" and "a long-lasting legacy" for its partnership.
Traditionally the firm's primary focus was on media law, but in the past few years the balance has shifted so that celebrity and commercial clients are now weighted equally. As such, the firm decided that a Soho office no longer suited its image.
The firm's managing partner Simon Smith said the move will see Schillings double its floor space, providing room for recent and planned growth.
"Our new office demonstrates a new and exciting chapter for the firm," he added.
