Media boutique Schillings is looking to expand the professional development of its junior lawyers with the launch of the Schillings Academy.
The first phase of the academy, which is open to associates at all levels at the firm, will be launched at the beginning of July with the aim of providing lawyers with a specific route to partnership.
The firm, which has six partners, take on two trainees each year, but rarely promotes into its partnership. The firm’s total lawyer headcount currently stands at 15.
All those taking part in the academy will participate in four main modules over a two-year period, covering defamation, privacy and confidence, advocacy and reputation management.
Aside from the advocacy module, which will be taught and accredited by the College of Law, all training will be carried out in-house, and those who complete the full course will receive a Schillings Academy certificate.
The firm’s founder and chief executive Keith Schilling said: “Our academy shows our commitment to providing the best training to our lawyers with the most advanced knowledge and expertise available.”
