Schilling to battle Wiggin on Winslet's Grazia claim

Nina Goswami

Wiggin & Co have been instructed by the publishers of Grazia magazine to fight libel claims alleged by actress Kate Winslet.

Yesterday (14 February) Schillings, the solicitors of the 32-year-old British star issued proceedings against Emap’s weekly glossy in respect to a story in this week’s issue.

The article alleges that Oscar nominee Winslet has been receiving treatment from a “diet doctor” at The Chinese Healing Institution in Los Angeles for not only neck pain, but to lose weight.

The piece goes on to contrast this alleged fact with her well known views against the “size zero” culture.

Winslet’s agent Sarah Keene said the actress did meet with a doctor "several years ago" for a different matter but never in relation to dieting.

Partner Caroline Keen from Wiggin & Co has been instructed to lead the case for Emap, while Schillings senior partner Keith Schilling represents Kate Winslet.
