Salans has launched a UK competition practice with the hire of antitrust partner Ian Rose from the London office of McDermott Will & Emery.
Rose has a practice focused on cartels and abuses of dominant positions, litigating in UK and European courts.
Howard Cohen, managing partner of Salans' London office, said: "We have been looking to develop our competition capability in London for some time. Ian Rose provides us with an excellent opportunity to extend our advice to our international clients in this area."
The boost came in the same week as Salans made two lateral hires in Hong Kong to launch a new office there.
The firm scooped real estate partner Jeff Wenhai Cai from Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson as well as corporate partner Andrew Liu from Pinsent Masons to lead the office.
