Salans Hertzfeld & Heilbronn's Warsaw office has recruited a telecoms partner from US firm Hogan & Hartson.
Krzystof Stefanowicz specialises in telecoms and information technology law as well as general corporate work. He joins the international firm's high-tech practice in Poland.
Stefanowicz says he joined the firm after seven years at Hogans because he was "looking for new prospects" to tap into the increasingly international Polish market.
He says: "The telecoms market is blooming, since there is a huge pressure from the European Union to liberalise telecoms law. The announcement says the new law will be enacted in May and this will bring new opportunities for investors."
He adds that telecoms liberalisation will bring in bigger foreign players in the internet market.
Darius Oleszczuk, managing partner of Salans' Warsaw office, says: "We are always on the lookout for energetic and dynamic individuals to help us grow this area."
