Salans has appointed a global chief operating officer in the shape of Peter Griffith, who joins from US firm Ropes & Gray’s London office.
Griffith replaces Neil Woodcock, who retired earlier this year.
He joins Salans after two years at Ropes, where he helped to establish the firm’s City office. Ropes launched in London in October 2009 with the hire of finance partners Maurice Allen and Mike Goetz, who had previously worked at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and White & Case.
Griffith previously spent over a decade at Ashurst, where he was in charge of human resources and operations.
At Salans Griffith will be responsible for all the firm’s global support services, including finance, IT, business development and marketing.
