Salans in three-partner swoop on Bird & Bird, Beiten Burkhardt

Salans has made a trio of partner hires in France and Germany, picking up tax and IP practice leaders from Bird & Bird and a corporate partner from Beiten Burkhardt.

Bird & Bird partners Isabelle Leroux and Anne Quénedey both joined Salans’ Paris office at the start of September.

Leroux was previously co-head of Bird & Bird’s French IP practice, advising clients such as Coca-Cola and L’Oréal. She brings three associates with her to Salans.

Meanwhile Quénedey headed up Bird & Bird’s Paris tax practice and also co-headed the firm’s international tax group. She also brought three associates, plus one counsel, to Salans.

Quénedey specialises in insurance and new information and communication technologies tax work, as well as transfer pricing of intangibles.

In Frankfurt Salans hired Beiten Burkhardt partner Robert Michels together with a counsel and an associate. He focuses on structured products and equity capital markets.

Salans’ global managing partner Dariusz Oleszczuk said the hires were part of a long-term strategy to grow the firm’s French and German practices.
