Salans has hired a partner from Squire Sanders Hammonds to head its global hospitality sector group in London.
Dan Larkin joined Salans on 1 January from what was formerly Squire Sanders & Dempsey’s London office, where he co-headed the real-estate finance team in Europe.
He joins Salans as a partner and head of its global hospitality sector group, which is part of the firm’s global real estate group.
According to Salans’ global real-estate co-chairman Eric Rosedale, more real-estate hires are on the way in 2011.
Evan Lazar, co-chairman of Salans’ Global real-estate group said: “This hire follows on the heels of taking on board Clifford Chance’s market leading real-estate practice in Poland. We continue to be an attractive alternative to the Magic Circle and leading US firms for top cross-border real estate practitioners across Western and Emerging Europe.”
In July 2010, Salans boosted its real-estate practice hiring four partners, a counsel and 12 associates from Clifford Chance’s Warsaw office. Shortly after, in October, Dewey & LeBoeuf scooped a team of four lawyers from Salans’ real-estate group in Warsaw.
Larkin specialises in corporate M&A, joint ventures, hotel management agreements and leases, IT and dispute resolution. He has also advised government bodies on privatising airports, sports arenas and other hospitality projects involving government assisted financing or PPPs.
Salans has around 70 partners (100 lawyers in total) operating in its hospitality and leisure sector group.
