Salans beefs up in Madrid with Linklaters partner hire

European firm Salans has picked up a real estate partner from Linklaters in a boost for its Madrid office.
Jesús Varela moves to Salans after two years as a partner at Linklaters. He focuses on real estate financing and refinancing transactions and will also contribute to Salans’ banking and finance and restructuring practice groups.
Varela joins Salans together with two associates. He is the fifth partner for Salans’ Madrid office.
Evan Lazar and Eric Rosedale, co-chairs of Salans’ global real estate team, said in a statement the hire underlined the firm’s strategy to build the group’s profile in Western Europe.
