Salans has brought in an insolvency partner in London.
Bodo Schaar, previously a partner in Simmons & Simmons’ restructuring and insolvency practice, has joined Salans as a member of the firm’s 12-strong London restructuring, reorganisation and insolvency team. Schaar is dual-qualified in both Germany and England and will focus on financial restructuring and insolvency as well as banking and capital markets.
Salans London office managing partner Howard Cohen said Schaar’s “nexus with the German market through both client work and qualification” would complement the firm’s established restructurings practice in Germany. Prior to joining Salans Schaar was a partner at Simmons from 2005. His appointment follows the hire of eight employment lawyers from German law firm Beiten Burkhardt.
