Russia’s Nadmitov Ivanov signs cooperation deal with Finnish firm

Moscow-based law firm Nadmitov Ivanov & Partners has established a cooperation agreement with Finnish finance boutique Attorneys-at-Law Trust.

Nadmitov Ivanov & Partners was founded in 2008 and focuses on corporate and finance transactions, litigation and arbitration matters, subsoil regulation and foreign investments into Russia. The team comprises two co-managing partners, Alexander Nadmitov and Alexey Ivanov, corporate and finance partner Sergey Lapin and five other lawyers.

Commenting on the agreement, Nadmitov said: “The agreement will allow us to effectively represent the interests of Russian clients in Finland, and Finnish companies in Russia and also marks the establishment of closer co-operation with the Finnish company Trust headed by one of the leading Finnish financial lawyers Mika Lehtimäki.”

Attorney-at-Law Trust was established in September 2011 when Lehtimäki left Finnish rival Magnusson Helsinki to set up the boutique. The firm focuses on banking and finance and M&A transactions and has offices in Hämeenlinna and Helsinki. Through the cooperation agreement, Lehtimäki will become an associated partner of Nadmitov Ivanov & Partners. He has 12 years’ experience of working on Finnish and cross-border M&A and financial transactions in the Nordic area and Russia.

Nadmitov, Ivanov and Lapin will also become associated partners of Attorney-at-Law Trust.

It is hoped that the agreement will allow both firms to capitalise on the strong trading links between Finland and Russia and the growing demand by Nordic and Baltic companies to operate in the Russian market (27 September 2010).
