A RUSSIAN attorney with an international reputation for his specialist trade mark expertise has joined the Moscow office of Baker & McKenzie as a partner.
Eugene Arievich is heading the office's intellectual property practice.
He joins Baker & McKenzie from Intels, a firm co-founded by Arievich in 1988 which has established eight offices in the former Soviet Union countries.
Intels claims to be the first private Russian law practice which has a speciality in intellectual property.
Arievich is a board member of the Association of Russian Patent Attorneys and is a member of the external relations committee of the International Trademark Association.
Baker & McKenzie has 47 lawyers in the Commonwealth of Independent States, with just under 30 at the Moscow office.
Arievich will work closely with Baker & McKenzie's intellectual property experts in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and Kiev in the Ukraine.
