Russell Jones bags CTC work

Russell Jones & Walker has beaten off 14 other firms to be appointed as the sole provider of legal services to CTC, The National Cyclists' Organisation

Other firms understood to have pitched for the business include Shoosmiths and Van Damm Walters, a small firm based in Fleet Street, which previously acted on CTC's panel and carried out approximately 50 per cent of the work.
This is the first time that CTC has appointed a sole adviser. The loss will come as a blow to Van Damm, which has since shut its personal injury practice.
The win will bring considerable work to Russell Jones, as CTC provides free legal services to its members, handling upwards of 500 cases a year.
Peter Jackson, operations manager at CTC, said: “We were also looking for innovative funding arrangements and additional value-added services that we may want to take up in the future.”
He added: “Russell Jones also suggested effective ways in which we can exploit the advantages that collective conditional fee agreements offer CTC and its members.”
