Russell-Cooke hit by court action from widow

Russell-Cooke is facing a court action from an elderly widow, who is claiming breach of duty against the firm and the executors of her late husband’s will.
After her husband’s death Angela Skinner, who has instructed Campbell Courtney & Cooney, planned to sell her home and move to a smaller flat. However, she was subsequently sued by the vendors for failing to complete the sale because she had inadequate funds.
Skinner alleged that Russell-Cooke failed to provide appropriate advice, agreed a price for the property without obtaining a professional valuation and a price for the chattels without discussing the matter with her.
Russell-Cooke did not respond for comment.
