Runaway jury

It is feared by lawyers as much as the dreaded Novovirus. Once caught, there’s no escape.

Tulkinghorn has heard that recently a glut of lawyers and legal managers have been subjected to the dreaded jury-itis. Yes, he’s talking about jury service.

Norton Rose‘s global banking chief Stephen Parish finally managed to escape the grip of the deal-destructing ailment as did Robert Graham-Campbell, chief executive of Maitland Chambers just before Christmas.

But spare a thought for the others who are still stuck in the belly of jury duty – namely Linklaters senior partner David Cheyne.

The last Tulkinghorn heard he was still in the little jury room waiting to be assigned a case. Once Cheyne’s on a case those barristers better watch out.
