RSA hires Gallagher Heath GC for newly created litigation role
Global insurer RSA has appointed Will Bloomer to the newly created role of UK head of litigation.
Bloomer, who is currently general counsel at insurance intermediary Gallagher Heath, will oversee the firm’s litigation management, reporting to UK general counsel Neville Howe.
His appointment follows that of group general counsel Derek Walsh, who replaced Mark Chambers (22 July 2010), and the promotion of group legal director Charlotte Heiss, who replaced Humphrey Tomlinson.
Tomlinson left the company in September to join RBS Insurance, also as group legal director (20 September 2011).
Commenting on the hire, Howe said: “Will brings with him extensive litigation and insurance expertise. Early investigation of claims, combined with early involvement of lawyers is key to fast decision making and settlement of claims. Will’s significant experience in this area will be an invaluable asset to our business.”
He joins the insurer in January.
