31 January 2006
Reynolds Porter Chamberlain (RPC) has poached Ashurst technology partner Jeremy Drew to spearhead its IT and IP practice.
Drew has handed in his resignation and will join RPC after serving out his notice period. He has been a partner at Ashurst since 2003.
An IP specialist, Drew has particular experience in the technology sector.
In 2005 he advised Apax Partners and Sunshine Acquisitions on the IP aspects of their £574m takeover offer for HIT, the company behind children’s characters Bob the Builder and Thomas the Tank Engine.
Drew joins RPC as a partner in the commercial division, focusing on IP and IT.
His appointment bolsters RPC’s IP/IT practice to 10 partners and follows the appointment of former Hammonds patent and trademark specialist, Kathy Harris last year.
Ashurst confirmed the departure.
