Reynolds Porter Chamberlain (RPC) has bolstered its insurance practice with the hire of Victoria Sheratt as partner.

Sheratt, who joins from Barlow Lyde & Gilbert, specialises in property insurance and has particular expertise in cases involving business interruption or fraudulent claims. She is currently working alongside the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjustors as it undertakes a major review of its business interruption policy.

RPC managing partner Jonathan Watmough commented: “We are delighted to welcome Victoria to the firm. She is recognised both by the insurance industry and her peers as one of the leading experts in property insurance, having focused on this sector for her entire career.

“In business interruption claims in particular she is without doubt the leader in her field.  We are very excited that Victoria has chosen to join RPC and her appointment further strengthens our leading property insurance offering.”

Victoria Sherratt added: “I am thrilled to be joining RPC who do great work and have an enviable client list. It’s also a great opportunity to work alongside their dedicated property insurance team.”

Sheratt’s hire is the latest in a raft of partner appointments. The City firm boosted its commercial risk and reinsurance team in May with the hire of  ex – BLG insurance partner Jason Bright and made its 20th lateral in three years with the hire of BLP real estate partner David Johnston in April (see story).
