Talking of Manchester United, a bizarre award was bestowed on club captain Irish midfielder Roy Keane last week. Keane has been awarded an honorary doctorate in law by University College Cork. The Observer sports section commented: "A proud moment for a man with a sparkling legal background. Keane picked up his first arrest in 1992, and after a 1999 row in Manchester's Henry's Bar, spent a night in the cells - collected by a steaming Fergie the next morning. This, plus once regular nightclub scuffles, police interviews, allegations of threatening behaviour with a walking stick and bouts of opponent stamping, make Keano an ideal new Doctor Law." That just about sums it up.
