Riverview Law has attracted four new members to its divorce and family team, including silk Christopher Pocock QC of 1 King’s Bench Walk.
Pocock, who was awarded silk in 2009, is joined in the practice by a second silk, Leslie Samuels, who also becomes a member of Riverview Chambers’ employment team. Samuels has been involved with chambers since its inception as part of the employment team.
Also joining the venture is Jonathan Walker-Kane of Broadway House Chambers in Leeds, Byron James of 14 Gray’s Inn Square and Zoe Lane-Smith of Guildford Chambers.
Riverview Law was launched in February as the unmbrella of two entities: Riverview Chambers and Riverview Solicitors (20 February 2012). It is the trading name of ABS LawVest, which is part-owned by DLA Piper (28 October 2011).
At its launch the fixed-fee set had the support of 43 members including 12 silks. The barristers retained membership of their existing chambers. These include Outer Temple, 1 Hare Court, 39 Essex Street, 11 South Square and 3 Pump Court.
The set has since launched a fixed-price divorce service for high-net-worth couples.
Riverview Chambers chief executive Chris Baylis said: “These appointments demonstrate our credentials in divorce and family law. I expect us to quickly establish ourselves as one of the leading sets in this area.”
