INSURANCE and litigation firm Kendall
Freeman was one of the victims of a slow year
for disputes, with turnover falling by 9 per
cent to put the firm out of the The Lawyer
UK 100.
Revenue dropped to £16.6m from 2005's
£18.2m, while average PEP was also down
slightly, to £332,000.
The firm attributed the decrease to the
settlement of two large pieces of arbitration, but
said it was confident for future growth. Indeed,
the current financial year has seen Kendall
Freeman appointed to the UK panel for
insurance giant Axa, and signs are looking
good for a resurgent year.
Despite the drop in turnover and profit,
Kendall Freeman maintained its tradition of
paying all members of staff a 2 per cent bonus.
During the last financial year Kendall
Freeman also made a rare lateral hire,
bolstering its corporate insurance practice and
Asia expertise with the appointment of former
Deacons partner Martin Lister.
