TURNOVERat Scottish midsizer MacRoberts
continued to grow steadily during 2005-06,
hitting £16.8m with an increase of around 6 per
cent – The Rising 50 average.
The firm appears to have found slightly
calmer waters under projects partner and now
managing partner Michael Murphy following
a turbulent period in 2004-05.
It scored some notable deals, including acting
for Johnston Press on its £160m acquisition of
Scotsman Newspapers from the Barclay
brothers.
MacRoberts was also confirmed, for a
period of three years, as principal legal
adviser to the Glasgow Housing Association,
the largest registered social landlord in
the UK.
