MEMERY Crystal is one of the fastest-growing
firms of The Rising 50, growing turnover by 26.5
per cent, or £2.7m, to reach £12.9m for the year.
Growth in AIM activity, a traditional focus of
Memery Crystal, and an upsurge in trademark
battles, another strong practice area, have
contributed to the revenue boost.
The firm now has 38 AIM clients, four more
than last year, and is ranked eighth in the
country for number of AIM clients.
On the IP front, litigator Harvey Rands
reached the Court of Appeal twice with client
Marchpole Holdings in a long-running dispute
over licensing arrangements with the designer
Ozwald Boateng.
Meanwhile, IP litigators Jane Marsden and
David Hansel managed to form a practice
devoted to defending small businesses against
IP claims brought by easyGroup.
So far the team has advised internet service
provider easynet, art dealer easyart and pizzadelivery
company easypizza.
