THE GROWTH plans continued in 2005 at
Thring Townsend, helped in no small part by
the December 2005 acquisition of the Bristol
office of Laytons.
The firm's ambition is to double the size of this
office within 12 months. The addition of three
new partners - Ian Griffiths, formerly head of
non-contentious construction at Burges Salmon,
commercial litigator Alistair Govier from
Nabarro Nathanson and Vanessa Williams, a
corporate partner at Bevan Brittan London -
means it is well on the way to achieving it.
Firmwide revenue was up by an impressive
16 per cent in 2005-06, from £12m to £13.9m.
During 2006 Thring Townsend launched its
new three-year business plan, which includes
the firm doubling its size and pinpointing an
established London practice with a private
client bias for amalgamation. Ambitious indeed.
